God Is Good

Being at YWAM in Kona, Hawaii, God's presence is everywhere imaginable. He is so good and is definitly beginning to do some amazing things here. Corporate worship in the open Ohana court is ansoltley breath taking. No one cares how you worship God, everyone is there to spend one on one time with God, not for others. God connects with us on a personal level and truely reveals himself to how good He really is. Since yesterday was still the beginning of all the classes and such, so we had the afternoon free. Most people went to the beach or to town, which sounded like a good idea. I felt God telling me I needed to rest and spend time with Him. We have whats called a "prayer room" where its a room near my room where you take off your shoes, enter and spent alone one on one time with God. There are poverty pictures around, a world map showing nations that are unreaches, and instraments to play worship to God. There was worship already going on yesterday when i came in, and spent a couple hours there just spending my time with God. It is so amazing to be around others experiencing God in this deep level as well, and it is just one more proof of how amazing God really is. I know that this is exactly where God wants me, and He is already starting to change my life even more, for His glory. Thank you all for everything.

YWAM

April 8, 2010 at noon, i arrived here in Kona, Hawaii and came to the University of the Nations. The moment i stepped foot on campus, i felt God's complete presence and knew exactly why God had me come here. I had such peace and felt an overwhelming power of God's love. First day here was registration day, paying fee's, meeting people, and of course getting used to the Hawaiin humidity and heat. The second day here was orientation. Third day here was beach day where we went to Hapuna Beach, then we had a Luau Dinner then the Hawaiian people gave us a presenation of welcoming us to the land. Today was another free day where we went to town, explored, went to the farmers market, and explored various beaches and seeing God's beauty. Tomorrow officially starts our normal schedule. Monday thru froday We have breakfast at 6am then we have "jesus time" then worship then we have 2 lectures during the moring adn afternoon then photogrpahy classes. Our lectures have differnt speakers every week speaking on differnnt topics such as God's love, purity, listening to His voice, and so on. I am so excited to see what God is going to be doing in my life here and i already know that he has me for specific reason. God is so good and thank you all for everything you have done and are doing for me.

Well... It's March 29.. and only 9 more days till I begin my journey in Hawaii. God is still continually blessing me, and i want to thank each and everyone of you for keeping me in your prayers, I appreciate it so much. God is so amazing and truly reveals himself to me each and every day. I have heard that there are just over 60 people in my DTS (discipleship training school) and we will all be together in out training in Kona. After training, and we set out for our outreach, we will break into 4-5 different groups to either Central America, Mexico, Africa, or Haiti and France. I've had a calling to Haiti since i was 16 years old when i attended NYC (Naxarene Youth Conference) in St. Louis Missouri and never really understood what God meant, maybe this is what he meant over 3 ywears later. Be praying for me in that area as well. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me, He is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. Thank you all for everything continually and next week it begins! I will keep you all updated through this and facebook and many pictures to come. God Bless!

Just a little over a month until I leave on this journey God has set before me in my life. Life is going so well. God is so good to me, just as He always is. My job is going very well. It is such a blessing from God. The three churches I attend throughout the week are amazing churches that I know God has placed in my life. Everything is gradually coming together for YWAM. I'm a little worried about the responses on my support letters though. I've talked to some other students that will be attending the PhotogenX DTS with me in April and a few of my leaders and they said that DTS's in Hawaii are the most difficult ones to raise support for becuase of the fact that it is in Hawaii. I'm not going on this journey BECAUSE it's in Hawaii. I am going here becuase this is the only YWAM base that offers the PhotogenX DTS, where I feel God strongly calling me to be involved with. Please continue praying for me that God will provide. Thank you for all your prayers, God bless!

Philippians 4:6-7Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

Support Letter

Here is a copy of my support letter i sent out. Please pray for me on this jounrey as God is revealing day by day his glory to me. Thank you for your prayers and support.
Dear Friends and Family,

If you are receiving this letter then you have either been a part of my life or have touched my life in one way or another. The last year in my life has been full of growing up and challenges, but also countless blessings. After listening to what I wanted to do in life instead of God’s direction for me, I attending Boise State University for one short semester. It was a wake up call from God to what path he no longer wanted me on, and a direction to His path.
After spending time in prayer and stepping out in faith, I am getting ready to embark on the most purposeful season of my life thus far. I have felt called to begin my life in mission work, spreading God’s word in any way possible. I am going to be leaving April 8th to begin a journey with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). For three months I will be in Hawaii cultivating an even deeper relationship with the Lord, learning how to reach out to the community around me, and furthering my knowledge in Photography. After the first 3 months, I will go onto the second phase of this missionary journey with more hands on work. My team will be going to Central America for 2 ½ months. During this phase, I will be fighting against injustice using the gifts God has given me in photography. We will be going to homes and staying with families who are suffering, and in every way possible we will invest everything we have to help these people. The goal of this trip is to pour out all that we have learned in the first three months, to show love like they have never seen it before, to bring life that could never be replaced, and to meet as many as their heart felt needs as possible.
This is a huge step in my personal life and my walk with God. I cannot do this alone; I would like to invite you to be a part of my journey and help make a difference in the life of others. Having support is a big component in missions. Your support could be committing to pray for me on this journey, being an encouragement to me, or helping me meet my financial needs. I firmly believe in the power of prayer and I know that God is capable of anything and everything. This trip costs roughly $10,000; while working full time as a nanny, I’m saving everything I can towards this trip. If you are able to support me financially, I would be so grateful, but most importantly, I ask that you keep me in your prayers throughout this year, as I know God will be doing some drastic things in my life and in the lives of others around me. Thank you for everything, and God bless. If you choose to support me financially, you can do so by writing a check directly to “University of the Nations” and sending it to my home address: 17834 Polara Way Nampa, ID 83687 or by making a donation through YWAM over phone (808) 326-4461.
I will be keeping a blog online for people to keep up to date with me. If you would like to do so, you can visit www.emilywilliamsonphotography.blogspot.com. Also to learn more about YWAM and photogenX please visit: www.uofnkona.edu or www.photogenx.net.
I want to thank you ahead of your time for your prayerful consideration in helping me in any way you can. May God bless you richly in 2010!
In Christ,

Emily Williamson

God is so good, and he has provided me with so many blessings recently. I can already see the impact all the prayers are having. Thank you everyone for all of your prayers and support. My job is going good. Jewel is such a blessing in my life. God has also provided me with a few friends I've met at church that have made a huge impact in my life encouraging me and supporting me while beginning this journey. Things are going great and less than 7 weeks till i set off on my journey. I can't wait to see what God has planned for me down this path he is leading me down. Ever since i made the decision to put my college education on a hold... my life has been different. Knowing i will be starting my life in the mission field on April 8th, 2010, I have different perspectives on things in life. My life used to be extremely busy. I would always be doing something, whether it be school, work, friends, going out, whatever it may be, i never had time alone, ever. The week after finals, i applied for 5 different jobs, and i said to God, wherever you want me to work, Boise or Nampa and wherever it may be, I am willing to do it. God provided me with a job working as a nanny monday through friday with an 18 month old little girl named Jewel. The family is a family who strongly believes in God, and this too has been such a blessing. I couldn't have asked for any other job. I know that God has given me this job to be at peace about stopping school, and quitting J. C. Penny after working there a little over 2.5 years. If you know me at all, you know how social i am and how important it is in my life to be with people, all the time. Ever since i stopped going to BSU, my life has been very simple. I work, come home, work out, and come home. Working with a little girl who is just learning how to talk, i spend alot of time in silence, with alot of that time talking to God. Over the past month, me and God have become best friends, something my soul has been longing for for 19 years. The past month, i hardly have spent time with people. God has given me a peace about being alone though, and it has been so rewarding. Spending as much time as i do alone and in silence, it has given me the opportunity to listen to God, and talk with Him. God is so good. I am learning how to be patient, with God and with life. God has a plan for everything, and i know this part in my journey is all part of it. Currently attending The Pursuit sunday mornings, and Calvary Chapel's "Engage Truth" in the evenings, God has reevently put some strong christian girls in my life that i know He had all planned out. God is so good and i cannot wait to see what he has in store for my near future. GOD IS GOOD!
